35,352 fans watched an exciting game at the ballpark.  The Columbus Crowd
topped the Jefferson Park Penguins by the slimmest of margins, 5 to
4.

Columbus had the game winning rally in the 8th inning with 2 runs on 3 hits.
Hank Blalock led off and started the attack as he lined a one-base hit.  J.D.
Drew stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk.  Rocco Baldelli then drew a
walk to load the bases.  Garret Anderson stepped in and he slapped a single
knocking in a run.  After an out was recorded, Craig Counsell came up and he
laced a base-hit scoring the final run of the inning.  Columbus banged out 10
on the afternoon.  

The winning pitcher was John Parrish(5-1) who allowed no runs in 3 innings.
Parrish got help from B.J. Ryan who was credited with his 6th save.  Juan
Rincon(7-4) was given the loss in relief.  He pitched 2 innings allowing 2
hits and 2 walks.

Columbus now has a record of 42-34.  With the loss, Jefferson Park has a
record of 6-4 lately, 45-31 overall.
